GOOD COMPOSITION
1. Artistic arrangement of elements within an image that "Tell the Best Story":
2. Simplify the Chaos
3. Block or eliminate the Intrusions
4. Fill the Frame
5. Create Interest and Mystery (part of an object, different angle of view, unconventional technique, blur, create patterns, a little abstract. Imagination is a wonderful thing.
6. Work the Scene - point of view (up, down, above, ground level) angle of view (additive vs subtractive), better light, better focus, clean background, light/dark background, silhouette, unique perspective, wide or tight, close or far, use of compression
7. Formula - Camera, Time, Effort & Knowledge
BAD COMPOSITION
1. No clear subject
2. Information overload
3. Subject dead centre but not strong enough!
4. Subject too close to edge of frame
5. Merging or cutting off in bad places
6. Distracting background
7. Subject obscured
8. Awkward juxtaposition
9. Too much “dead” space
10. Tilted horizon
Happy Shooting!
