NO PHOTOS TODAY - SORRY!

The weather was blustery and cold and wet yesterday, but nothing compared to the howling wind and rain today! It had kept me awake most of the night and we planned to spend the day at home.

I made Spurtle Porridge for the first time and Vince made a Vlogg of it (stay tuned and I'll update this post when he's processed the video).

However, cabin fever took over and Vince suggested we go into Uig to post off the wedding cakes to the UK relatives and get some boxes to start packing up the wedding gear to send home. The ladies there were more than helpful and thanked us for the cake we had dropped off the other day. So mission accomplished, we were headed back home through the stormy conditions.

Back home I discovered a leak in the bathroom ceiling which thankfully was above the stack of towels which soaked up most of the water, and after mopping up the rest I put a bucket underneath it. We let Lorraine know but she was already aware of this problem in severe weather and builders advice was nothing could be done.

As we sat by the raging fire Vince had made, I unpacked the Needle Felting Kit that he gave me for Christmas. It was weird as I had never seen it done but following the instructions it proved to be easy enough, except I manage to break all three needles provided so my poor highland calf in only half done. Vince suggested contacting the company to find out where I can get more needles (as Skye is unlikely to provide any solutions given we can’t even buy pillows here) and thankfully they got back to me that they will send me some more!

I cooked Pepper Butter Pork Steaks, with mashed potatoes and veggies for tea and then we watched a bit more of James Bond, but you guessed it - we were in bed before it ended - maybe tomorrow night!
