We woke to weather much the same as yesterday - blustery, windy and wet. The boys (Aad and Mike) will be doing their own thing. Today the plan was to go to Elgol in the hope of seeing some legendary Heilan Coos that often walk along the road there (so far we have only seen them in fields penned in). After which we wanted to go back to Sligachan Bridge and Sligachan Waterfalls to check them out as possible wedding photo locations.

I also want to collect 3 stones to use in our wedding ceremony from the Sligachan river as that is where we intend to throw one of the keys to our wedding ring lock in. Previously, we had an identical brass lock that we attached to the bridge in Paris and through the key into the Sein. Since we are unlikely to get to Paris this time, we plan to substitute the Sligachan Bridge and River and just keep the lock and a key as a moment this time.
Unfortunately, the weather was so bad we couldn’t see a thing for all the rain and mist, to take any photographs. We stopped in at the Granery at Portree for a bacon and egg roll in the hope the weather may improve, but it didn’t. We went to the information centre (as it had been closed on previous days) and whilst there I heard a French family asking about the Fairy Pools and the Old Man of Storr - the lady was advising them against it due to the dangerous weather and that you wouldn’t see anything.
At Sligachan Bridge the river was absolutely raging and the rain bucketing down, in fact due to the wind it was horizontal rain! Vince braved the weather to try to collect the rocks but it was just to dangerous with the flow of water and the gale force winds, so he got back to the car looking like a drowned rat! We gave up on our plans to go to the waterfall as the hike to it and the bog around it would have been impassable, and we already know what it looks like having been there a few days ago.

We returned home and stopped off at Rankins in Uig to find out about postage and delivery (for our replacement glass turntable order) and met the owner and postmistress. They were very jolly and helpful, and apparently our mail will be delivered directly to Willie McLeod’s - we don’t need to come to Uig to collect it. So when we got home I place the order which is due to come on 3.1.2020.

When we got home Vince went out again to try to get some beach shots at Duntulm with the crashing waves. I stayed in and started on dinner. When the boys got home they saw Lorraine fixing the metre box and Alan standing talking to her but I missed her. We did however communicate by email and got everything sorted out. She also let me now how much power we are using and it’s a LOT, I guess having 4 adults in the house uses more power than expected - so we will have to monitor our use more closely so we don’t end up with a huge bill at the end.
