I had a restless night’s sleep (too much DVD violence I think) and was awake when I saw some headlights and heard a car below. I thought it was just the Alan, the Crofter coming down to turn around. I got up a few minutes later and it was just before 7.00am, when Vince and I came downstairs we were a bit stunned to find the boys already gone (the car had been them) and a note left on the table (they didn’t want to wake us) - we were a bit disappointed that we didn’t get to say good-bye in person.

I cooked us some bacon and eggs for breakfast and we did a few washing chores before heading off around 11.00am.

We stopped at the top of hill to say hi to Alan, busy with his 12 border collies, and gave him a couple of pieces of wedding cake.

We then went into Uig to Rankins and I dropped off some wedding cake for Jillian and Mike, the owners, and Canincu? and Pam the post mistresses who had all been so helpful to us.

Next we went to the Calmac Uig Ferry Terminal to drop the Kilts off ready for the 2.00pm sailing back to Tarbert on Lewis where someone from Celtic Clothing would collect them. We also dropped off some wedding cake for their help.

I then went to the nearby Uig Pottery store and dropped in some wedding cake to say thanks for their help with the candle holder.

Then it was off to Portee for lunch at the Royal Hotel and I went upstairs to the Cut Above Salon to see Sarah and drop off some wedding cake to say thanks for doing my hair the day before the wedding.

We dropped into a shop to look for a cup for Vince, but he still hasn’t found the one he really likes yet, and at the shop across the road I bought a Lochcarron scarf in the Isle of Skye tartan (the tartan which Penny and Alan the piper had both been wearing at our wedding).

Then it was off to do some food shopping and replenish our bare cupboards at the local Co Op. Vince looked for the whiskey Alan had shared but they didn’t stock it. I miss my own dog, Cebar, and have been enjoying the attention of some of Alan’s dogs, so I bought a box to treats for them - I couldn’t help myself!

On the return trip through Uig we stopped off at Rankins again, and Vince asked about the whiskey (they had said anything special they could order in) to our surprise they had it in stock. Mike explained the one of the locals liked it so he gets it in - we asked if it was Alan Duncan and he laughed - Skye is a small place!

Returning to Willie McLeod’s we met Alan at the top of the hill and invited him to Sunday lunch for a roast. We all laughed about the whiskey.

We spent the rest of the day just pottering about the house, catching up on things, and Vince made us pizza for dinner.

We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow, the first of 5 photography tours we have booked with Marcus McAdam's Skye Photo Academy - Harry Martin will be our guide for tomorrow and we spent the rest of our evening getting things ready.
