The remnants of Storm Dennis were still passing through, so today was not a good day to be out and about - High Wind, Rain and Hail!

We had our lunch plans with our friend Alan the crofter, but he had to slum it with Dalwhinnie instead of his usual dram of Ledaig as we hadn’t been to Rankin’s since we used it up last weekend.
Vince spent most of the morning in the Kitchen cooking a beautiful roast pork whilst I called my parents on WhatsApp to check in on them in Darwin, and then with my Daughter and her family in Perth. It was wonderful to speak with her and the Grandies, they are all growing up so fast!

I did some housework, and started the fire and once the chores were out of the way I sat down to start to do a bit of painting, but looking out the front window and the snow on Pointy Mountain I was surprised to see Alan’s cows in the lower field as they are usually up in the back field that I can see from my kitchen window. I grabbed my camera and dashed out to the inclosed porch to shove on my Wellies and dash out the door before they scarpered.
It was blustery and freezing outside without my woolies and waterproof jackets etc, but I didn’t want to waste time.

They were so cute. Some of them are in calf and the Highlanders out the very back fields are also in calf. So I am excited that we could have some babies arriving soon, and I might even get to see one being born - fingers crossed!!!!
Then it was back inside to warm up by the fire and get back to a bit of painting before Alan arrived. Then it was my turn in the kitchen, to sort the mashed potatoes, do the gravy, dish up and then do deserts.

It was our usual hoot of attentively listening to Alan’s stories and having a good laugh. We explained that next Sunday we will be away at our friends overnight so lunch won’t be on that day here.

After Alan left, it was clean up the kitchen time and then Vince wanted to run through some new settings on our cameras he had seen on some Mark Galer (Sony Embassador) videos as recommendations. So that took us a wee while.
Then we just had a quiet evening with a simple dinner, since we had a big meal at lunch time and settled in for a DVD, Knight to Day. Last night we watched Thor - which we quite enjoyed.
