After the ferocity of the Storm Brendan, there was a bit of damage around, but thankfully we were okay. Our neighbour from the Shulista Wig-Wams was looking for part of her chimney, Alan lost another sheep in the bog so he’s moving them to another field, and we never got the snow that was expected.
There was some hail, and bit of light snow here and there, but nothing worthy of making a snowman like we promised the Grandies. I had even been inventive and cut out eyes, eyebrows and buttons out of a black cardboard inner (from the boys wedding shirts) and used tippex (all I had) to make the white of the eyes and accents on the buttons. I also put aside a small carrot for Olaf’s nose - but alas not enough snow yet!

We went down to Balmaqueen for sunrise shots despite the howling wind and hail at times.

Then we continued on for our first look at the Quiraing, we went via Staffin which meant we had to go up the steep incline and take two hairpin bends on ice and snow - it was a bit of a “sphinter” test when the car tyres were slipping on the icy road backwards! But finally we were safely at the top it was an amazing view and the most snow we have seen on Skye so far - but still not enough to build a Snowman!

We went further along the road toward Uig though the Quiraing and found a beautiful little waterfall and some sheep in the snow. The waterfall was gorgeous and we managed to get some nice long exposure shots and at one point the sun popped out briefly shining on the water and rock. The sheep however were far less cooperative and took off as soon as I raised my camera.

We stopped off at Rankins in Uig for a drink and some dinner supplies then we went to the Faery Glen to check out if it had any snow - It didn’t but Vince took another YaYa Vlog whilst we were there. Not sure how many we are up to but I know there is a bit of a backlog! Vince promised he would process this one tonight and he did!

We went home as dark was falling but Vince wanted to try to get Sunset at Duntulm, the wind was howling and it was raining so I stayed behind at home and did some chores whilst he went.
We just had an easy roast chicken dinner (TV dinner) as we had been out all day and I hadn’t left any meat out in the morning and settled down into our little “Skye Skyns” couch nest again to finish watching You’ve Got Mail!
