Just feeling totally relaxed and silly today - not a photograph to take - due to the totally unrelenting weather, torrential rain and winds and of course the biting cold.
No alarm set - as the forecast was for a shitfull day and it was! After Vince woke up around 8.30am I started to get up but changed my mind as it was cold and jumped back under the doona where my little cubby was snuggly and warm. To my surprise I fell asleep!
Vince had made our ceremonial “love” coffee and tea downstairs - but when I failed to appear he came up looking for me - and found me asleep. He said later I looked so comfortable he decided to join me - and also fell asleep.
You can imagine our surprise when we did wake up to find out it was 11.30am - we have NEVER slept that late before! We obviously needed the rest.
We pottered about and I cooked up a “Brunch” of bacon, eggs, toast, backed beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese - so yummy.
We relaxed by the fire, and when Vince spotted Alan (our crofter friend) he dashed out to give him the dog/chicken scraps we had for them, and invited him in for a cup of tea. Unfortunately, the cupboard was pretty bare, so no biscuits or scones today - but I managed to make up a plate of antipasto - only to discover he doesn’t eat it. However, a dram or two was very welcome instead!
We absolutely enjoyed his tales of times gone bye and he is a wealth of knowledge on local history.

Back on the lounges in front of the fire we each read our respective books - Vince is reading his signed copy of the “Ripple Effect” by Gavin Major and I am reading my signed copy of “Great Stories Written Badly” by Ian Williams.
We have almost gone through all our wood again, so I contacted Lorraine (our land lady) to organise some more for us.
Ian had told me and inscribed inside that the message for me would be clear - and it was! I need to learn to paint and he is the one who needs to teach me! I matriculated in Fine Art and Art History at high school, and have always enjoyed a variety of creative outlets in the past, but painting isn’t one of them. So I took 20 seconds of courage and sent a private message to Ian via Instagram asking him to please say YES! Fingers Crossed!

Dinner was steak and vegetables, and I also prepared a steak and veggie pie for tomorrow nights dinner (as we plan to be out all day going back to Elgol). It’s basically just using up all the last of the veggies I have in the fridge before we shop tomorrow. Potluck Pie!
We watched “Meet the Parents” and Vince couldn’t stop laughing - he thought it was hilarious!

Glad to hear your doing ok considering you must be frozen, while we boil here. Fires are still burning around the country so that’s not good. We have another new lady, Wendy she came in and sat down and I said I know you she answered with yes I live a couple of doors from you lol I had seen her and her husband but never met them, lovely lady, she brings me home if Dave’s not picking me up , we have a lovely group we really do all get along together, although it’s very quiet without you so you must be the noisy one lol take care in that wild weather. xx
