Vince’s alarm went off at 8.00am as he wanted to prepare the roast pork for today. I stayed in bed for another hour (I fell back to sleep) and then got up to our morning routines. I started a fire as Vince busied himself in the kitchen making our Sunday Lunch on a Monday!

That fire will be the death of me….I’ve started and restarted it, and it looks like it’s going okay then it dies out. I think it is because this last lot of wood (like the one before it) is not as dry as the previous loads. The weather we have had, basically every day raining is not helping that situation. Or it could just be the wind is too strong and blowing it out once the initial flames from the fire lighters soften - either way I am obviously sadly lacking in Boy Scout skills!
I did a bit of painting, caught up on my blogs and photos and posted the one from yesterday along with a few Instagram photos until Vince called me to come help with the last of the veggies, make the gravy and dish up as Alan arrived

I then made desert - sticky date pudding and/or bread and butter pudding with ice cream and/or custard.

We had our usual Sunday shenanigans - even if it was a day late, and throughly enjoyed each others company and killed yet another bottle of Ledaig scotch as well as the last of the Dalwhinnie. The two boys in a race to see which bottle could yield the most in the new “FINISHED BUT UPSIDE DOWN” event - I was judge - VERDICT - equal FIRST!
After we said our good-byes to Alan, I cleaned up the kitchen and we settled down for a lazy afternoon on the sofas - Vince reading his book and me doing this blog.

I got a WhatsApp message from my daughter - Wedding Boxes update - 4 more have arrived - so that’s 6 down 2 to go! Fingers Crossed!
We are resting up in case there is an Aurora Alert tonight, but in the event there isn’t we will probably watch the sequel, Meet the Parents. Wish us luck!
