Unlike last week where we had to move our Sunday roast to Monday due to good weather for photography, we could enjoy our roast lunch, including Alan the crofter, on Sunday as it should be!

Since I have been taking antibiotics for my sinus problem, the Doctor in Portree told me not to take my Mycophenolate medication (which is an immunosuppressant that helps with my severe chronic dermatitis). As a result I currently resemble LOBSTER GIRL and my skin is very, very painful. So last night I took a large does (50mg) of Phenergan which helps settle things down a bit to a bearable level, but completely BOMBS me out! So I slept until 11.15am today but was up in time to help with the mashed potatoes and do the gravy.

Vince had already put the fire on so it was nice and cosy, but I did put on my wellies and go out briefly to put up my new bird feeders - don't they look swish - now all I need is for some birds to come.

At just after 12.00pm Alan, the crofter arrived, with two of his border collie dogs following him as usual. Johan and Pia I think. They are so well behaved patiently waiting outside for their master, all the time watch the front door or occasionally peering through the window (all you see is ears and eyes!)

We settled down to a wonderful roast beef lunch that Vince cooked to perfection and enjoyed a dram, or two as we chatted about world events and local history. Always entertaining and fun. Desert was bread and butter pudding with custard for Alan and I, but chocolate pudding and ice-cream for Vince as he doesn’t like the other.

By 2.30 we were saying our farewells and Alan was point on his oilskins the he always leaves in the front porch before coming inside. Back in the kitchen for the clean up I looked out the back and saw some of Alan's cows, we so love it here on the farm, with the cows, sheep and chickens - but someone else having to do the hard work!.

After a bit of a clean up I went for another 2 and half hour nap, whilst Vince made a small video of sunrise over Staffin Beach from our dinosaur hunting last Thursday.

I used up the last of the Lentil Soup for dinner as we weren’t very hungry from out big lunch.

Last night we gave some though to our departure - although we still have quite a few weeks left here, we needed to sort out our movements and some dates to let family know our plans.

So we plan to leave Willie McLeod’s on 29th March, then make our way to Aberdeen to visit one of Vince;s Aunts, stay two nights there (30th and 31st), then arrive in Paisley on 1st April where we’ll stay to the 3rd. Once of my cousins is trying to organise my relatives to get together on the 2nd April before I go. Then it will be off on the train from Glasgow to Middlesbrough, with one change of train required. We plan to say there on the 3rd and 4th April to organise a suitable place for Vince’s parents ashes. Then catch a train (with one change required) down to London for the 5th where we will stay until we fly home on the 8th April. We also booked to see Les Miserables, one of Vince;s favouries, in the West End on the 6th April.

Needless to say it took a bit of research and organising to book the trains, accommodation and the show - but it’s all sorted now. Mind you during all the deliberations I did crack open one of the miniature bottle of gin our friend Penny gave me, and made my first Gin and Tonic during the process - so one down one to go! (haha)

We intend to just spent a very quiet evening maybe watching a DVD.- but probably NOT the “Interns” that we did start last night, but couldn’t really get into.
