Vince says this is a half breed day, half chores, half photography.
The morning was spent with Vince working on the back log of his Vlog processing and swearing as our shared laptop kept crashing as he tried to export the “Spurtle Porridge” Vlog - so if it ever does manage to see the light of day, enjoy it - it came at great effort and emotional cost!
I did a few chores, tried to do a few instagram posts and got a WhatsApp call from my sister in Darwin.
I made us some lunch of Minestrone Soup (just out of a tin) and used up our last two slices of bread.

The day started to clear a little and the rain stopped, so I suggested rather than the planned swapping of the computer so I could catch up on my Blogs, that we go out and get photos of the Balmaqueen Sea Stacks.

So we packed all the gear in the car and off we went. On the way we saw Billy and Willie who were again at the fence, this time eating. We stopped to take some photos, but sadly they didn’t turn out as good as I’d hoped. Morag made friends and they even shared their oats with her!
I put on my new inner gloves in the hope of keeping my fingers in operational mode, and we hiked up to the military look out to see what we could. I took the steep way up - a mistake in hind site, so I ended up arriving at the top around the same time as Vince who took the longer but easier way.

The view was great and we tried out a few different lenses, and also looked in the other direction towards the Quiraing for some inspiration, but unfortunately didn’t end up with any great images from the shoot.

It was very blustery and cold, and several times I was almost blown over. Keeping the tripod steady was a challenge, even though I use a heavy weight manfrotto, the wind here is just so strong. When the rain sent end, and the cold in my hands had reached the point I had to put on my new Montane Quantum Super Prism (pertex primaloft) gloves we knew it was time to head back. Vince is just the best husband - he carried all the camera gear in the backpacks and bags up and down for me! What a gentleman!
Back in our cosy Willie McLeod’s House we restocked the fire and caught up on downloading photos and my Blogs.
Tea was homemade Spag Bol and getting ready for our big photography day tomorrow - as the weather is looking good!
