I had a glorious sleep in until 8.30 when I was able to come to the real world in my own good time for a change - not a wake-up alarm in sight! I had a leisurely start to the morning, having my cup of tea that Vince always makes me every morning, as I cooked us some Spurtle Porridge.

He was busy working on some video processing and drone stuff from yesterday so I settle down to read my new book that came in the mail yesterday - They Ask You Answer! Something to help us in building our combined business now that we are both no longer in mainstream employment.

At lunch time I made some bacon and egg rolls and we noticed that the weather was not quite as bleak as it was this morning, although we still couldn’t see Pointy Mountain for the mist and low cloud.

We had to get a few supplies such as washing powder, bread and milk so we headed towards Uig to Rankins (the only shop in town). As we travelled along the road we stopped to let Vince drone over some old village settlement ruins on the coast. Our crofter friend, Alan, had told us that the settlement was infected by polio and when the rent collectors came they found everyone dead, after which it just fell into ruin.

Just a few 100 metres on we were at the Museum of Island Life, and although closed for the Winter, we stopped there so Vince could drone and show what the previous village would have looked like at the time and we did a YaYa Vlog about how my relatives from Camuscross would have lived in similar houses to these. Alan told us it is also where Willie McLeod (the original owner of the croft we are staying in) was born and raised.

Whilst there I saw a number of cars going to the Kilmuir Cemetery, where the Flora McDonald Monument is - she helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape to France. I also saw hard evidence that the Royal Mail does get through no matter what - even in the cemetery - now that's dedication to service! LOL!

We then went on toward Uig and we stopped at the Falls of Rha, which we had seen the other day for the first time even though we had driven that road many, many times. We go out the car and went up the steep slope. I took one of my trekking poles not knowing what was in store ahead, but it was very civilised compared to yesterday’s hike at the Quiraing, this had steps made earth surrounded by wooden support frames and in some places even a side railing. The descent on the other side was also steep but also had steps most of the way. The falls were spectacular and we spent about two hours there just photographing and taking some long exposures. It was just magical and somewhere we will definitely come back to.

Then it was finally off to Rankins for those necessary supplies as it was starting to get dark and then back home to Willie McLeods.

Vince worked on his drone footage and the new YaYa vlog, whilst I had a shower and then made us dinner - Thai Chicken Curry and Rice. I also backed a chocolate cake for desert. Then Vince when for his shower whilst I wrote today’s blog

.

We watched half of a movie last night after dinner before bed, The Imitation Game, so we will watch the rest tonight.
